I think all the staff at OAC have been wonderfully kind and caring and patient with both mum and dad. I have nothing but praise to give to Alresford care Home. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional at all times. The atmosphere is warm and cosy! The relationship between staff and residents is lovely. Both night and day staff work extremely well together, and their skills are of a high standard. Management is very good, extremely friendly. My father is very settled and is well liked I believe. It is nice to see him interact with all the staff and other residents.

We looked at many care homes before placing my mother in care. When placing mother in a care home (the first) it seemed okay but after 2 months she wasn't happy so we continued our search. Out initial sight of the Old Alresford Cottage was very favourable and after 10 mins walkabout, we felt very good about it. There is a genuine honest feel about the home and after mother has been cared for here for two and a half years they have earned our trust and friendship with the home and each carer and some residents.

My mother (now 97) came here in August 2014 after being in another home. This home is first class. The care, concern and attention given to all residents is a joy to see. The staff are full of kindness, the professional yet compassionate approach from the manager to the maintenance guys leaves me with the peace of mind that mum is in the best hands. My mum was an isolationist when she arrived, wanting to spend much of the day in her room. Encouragement and activities made her a happier person within 3 weeks. Mum is now coming to the end of her life but the palliative care here is second to none. This is a superb place.

I am a qualified nurse myself and have seen and worked in a number of homes but have never seen such an amazing bunch of people in my life, they are truly wonderful. Affinity care should be proud of their home and their staff as they are second to none and in this day and age with so many negative reports on care homes, it is refreshing to write so positively about your home. The level of care provided at OAC is wonderful. The needs of the resident is the top priority of all the staff. The home is homely, without a trace of institutional uniformity. Residents are treated as individuals and the calibre of all staff is exemplary. OAC doesn't even smell like an old folks' home, and that is down to how well the residents and facilities are cared for - not the use of air fresheners.

From entering the car park one is impressed by the extensive grounds and well cared for planting, on entering the house it feels calm and welcoming. The staff from management down are all approachable, everyone has a caring manner. Each resident is helped to maintain their daily routine, everyone is clean and well cared for as an individual.
