The residents at OAC recently enjoyed an afternoon at Gardening Club!

We enjoyed 'potting up' all of our lovely plants ready for Peter to plant them all out next month.

Benefits of Gardening

Unfortunately some residents can't make the trip outside that often, yet it is well known that being outdoors in the fresh air and sunlight amongst the plants and trees is hugely beneficial.

Gardening can have a huge positive impact on our residents’ wellbeing and gives people the opportunity to use their fine motor skills - these are vital for keeping their independence. Being involved in activities such as gardening and seeing their own plants and flowers bloom and thrive encourages them to make that trip out into the fresh air which helps with strength, balance and sensory stimulation.
