Meet our newest residents!

We have welcomed 7 new residents this month...

... our new family of Guinea Pigs!

Their names are Mildred, Mollie, Pig, Fuzz, Cora, Jennifer and Marley.

We already had an old aviary and a shed in our garden so our team got their DIY caps on and adapted the area into a large guinea pig enclosure. We decided on guinea pigs as we felt it would be nice for our residents to have pets that they can sit with and stroke on their laps, also many of them remember having a guinea pig as a child!

We have our ‘Pets as Therapy’ session on Thursday afternoons so each guinea pig is allocated to a member of staff and they take them round to see all the residents.

Sam, Lyn and Koron feed and water our furry friends and the residents like to watch this each day.

And here they are! Fuzz, Cora, Mollie, Marley, Jennifer, Pig and Mildred
